Jiri to Kalapathar & Everest Base Camp Trek
Probably the most famous mountain of the world, Mount Everest 's grandiose stature continues to amaze many travelers. This ascent to the 5,300m base camp of the world's highest peak will take you to the heart of the Sherpa nation and through awe-inspiring, barren ice-capped landscapes.

Trek in the footsteps of legends as we ascend from 9,200 feet to 18,190 feet in elevation, where verdant forested valleys fall away before the icebound drama of the world’s highest mountains. Trekking at a moderate pace allows time to acclimatize and to learn about the rich Sherpa culture of the Solu Khumbu region. Explore brilliantly decorated temples and monasteries. Traverse the lower slopes of Tawoche, a 21,463’ collection of bare rock, glaciers and towering ice spires. On Kala Patar, skirt car-sized boulders to reach its 18,190’ summit at sunset and enjoy one of the best light shows on earth! Your friendly guides provides surprisingly tasty meals while lending support and companionship. Begin and end this epic journey in exotic Kathmandu .

Mt. Everest is famous not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain (8,848 m) but also for its Sherpa Villages and Monasteries. It takes three weeks to start the trekking from Jiri and fly back from Lukla. Walking to and from Everest Base Camp takes at least one month to complete the trekking. Many trekkers find the walk to Everest better then the destination itself. The Everest trekking areas offer a visit to the homeland of the Sherpas, a chance to get close to the highest mountain in the world, as well as the feeling in one that of surrounded by peaks.This trek starts as following

ITINERARIES


Day 01- Kathmandu (Arrival day and Transfer to hotel)
.
Day 02- Kathmandu to Jiri: Drive to Jiri, 187 km form Kathmandu.  Early morning drive to Jiri by Bus through scenic road, It is only 188 km away from Kathmandu but due to the mountain road it will take about 7/8 hour drive. Private car of jeep drive also an options.

Day 03- Jiri trekking to Deorali: The trek begins witha steady climb through cultivated fields and tiny Tamang villages. Climbing diagonally, we cross forested areas and open pasture land before again descending to Shivalaya. From here it's steady climb to the top of the Deorali pass (3000m) where we spend the night.

Day 04- Deorali trekking to Sete: From Deorali, it's a short walk to the Sherpal village of Bhandar which is littered with prayer walls and small gompas ( buddhist temples) Descending to the valley floor at the river side town of Kenja, the trail climbs steeply up a ridge ruchly forested with oak and rhododendron to Sete ( 2575m) whose beautiful hilltop monastery is a worth a visit.

Day 05- Sete trekking to Junbesi: We climb through fragrant pine and oak forest to the Lamjura pass ( 3500m) for our first glimpse of Everest, then it's downhill again to the large Sherpa village of Junvbesi. From here there are good views Gaurishankar, Number Himal and Dudh Kunda.

Day 06- Junbesi trekking to Nuntala: From here we walk up the solung ridge, from where Everest is again visible and then descend to Ringo Khola, ringed with apple orchards. The trail crosses the Traksindola (3071m) before descending once again through the forest to Nuntala.

Day 07- Nuntala trekking to Kharikhola: From nuntala the descend continues to Dudh Koshi (Milk river) the largest river on the trek. Then ascend through severeal Sherpa and Rai villages. Terraced fields and forest to the spread out village of Khari-Khola

Day 08- Khari-Khola trekking to Puiyan: The path ascends through Sherpa villages and a forest inhabited by monkeys, and then winds steeply up adn down through the Dudh Koshi canyan to Puiyan.

Day 09- Puiyan trekking to Phakding: The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to a ridge at 2800m. Then up to another ridge. Passing the path to Lukla airport, after which we climb on to Phakding.

Day 10- Phakding trekking to Namche (3,440m) - Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes a waterfall. All day, we pass villages interspersed with magnificent forest- rhododendron, magniolia trees and giant firs. And on the way to walking you will be rewarded (weather permitting) your first glimpse of Kusum Kanggru (6369m) Thamserku (6608m) Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar (3440m).

Day 11- Acclimatization day in Namche. Acclimatization is most important before proceeding to a higher elevation. It is therefore recommended that you take a short days hike to Thame, Khunde or Khumjung or relax and explore the sherpa culture of Namche.

Day 12- Namche trekking to Tengboche (3,867m): after walking one hour you arrive in phungithanga from there the trail climbs through forests where you can spot musk deer. Tengboche sits on a saddle at 3870m in a clearing surrounded by dwarf fires and rododendroms. Kwongde (6187m) Tawache(6542m) Everest (8848m) Nuptse (7855m) Lhotse (8618m) Amadablam (6856m) Thamserku (6608m) provide and inspiring panorama of Himalayan giants. We visit the Bhuddist Monastry at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region.

Day 13- Tenghoche trekking to Dingboche (4360m) 5 – 6 hours: In the morning views of mountain and monasteries are spectacular in Tengboche, We descent most of the morning in the the Imjatse Khola, through the forest of birches conifers and rhododendrons. As we follow the river northward the trails pass through several chortens and mani walls and small villages. On the way we will have best view of Ama.Dablam. On arrival at Dingboche, we enjoy the beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the barley, buckwheat and potatoes The views are great from Dingboche, we can see Island Peak, Makalu and another face of Amadablam,. Overnight in Dingboche

Day 14- Trek to chhukung for Acclimatization (4743M) & back down to Dingboche- Stay at same hotel.

Day 15- Dingboche Trekking to Lobuche (4940m) 5 hour: We continue our journey from Dingboche through the high alpine region to the conclusion of Luboche and stay overnight. On the way to Lobuche we cross the glacial frozen river at Thukla and climb up hill, watching magnificent view of Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori and Nuptse. Overnight at Lobuche

Day 16- Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170m), trekking to Everest Base camp (5364m)back to Gorakshep 7 – 8 hour: The first section of the trail from Lobuche follows the narrow gap between the glacial moraine and the mountain wall then crosses tributary glaciers to reach the dry lake bed of Gokrak Shep. Stopping for lunch at Gorekshep, after we walk to Everest Base Camp and explore the area famous for so many climbing expeditions to Mt Everest. The Base Camp area provides an opportunity to experience the freezing and harsh conditions that mountaineers brave to summit this famous mountain. After exploring the Everest Base Camp, trekking back to Gorakshep.

Day 17- Gorak Shep trekking to Kala Patthar (5545m) trekking back to Pheriche (4280 m) 7-8 hrs: We start early in the morning as mornings are usually sparkling and clear and best time to climb the Kalapathar, this is the highlight of the trekking, we will be rewarded the 360 degree dramatic panorama views of Mt Everest and surroundings mountains, On being back to Gorak Shep, we have breakfast followed by a gradual descend down to Pheriche for a good night's rest. Overnight in Pheriche.

Day 18- Pheriche Trekking to Namche Bazaar via Pangboche and Tengboche: 6-7 hour: We will trek down through the hillside blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees. If it's spring, pink and red rhododendron flowers ablaze our surroundings from Tengboche the trail goes down to Phunki Thanga, from here mostly the trail goes through the pine forests and have chance to see the wild life like mountain goats, snow leopard and colorful pheasants, finally we will arrive at Namche for overnight stay.

Day 19- Namche Bazaar trekking back to Lukla  (2,652m): 4-5 hour: Today the trail descends steeply downward before crossing the suspension bridges on Dudh Koshi River. From here the trail becomes more level and natural. We will work though rhododendron and pine forests with the view of distance snow covered peak before arriving Phakding after lunch here continue working to Lukla.

Day 20- Flight from Lukla - KTM, After arriving back at the Kathmandu Domestic Airport we will return you to your hotel.

Day 21- A full days sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. After you have had your breakfast we will take you on a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu valley. You will visit the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. You will also visit Swyambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a 2000 year old temple, A visit to Patan City will enchant you with it’s famous fine arts and historical architecture. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the famous Durbar Square.

Day 22- Final Departure to Airport
