Gokyo - Cholapass - EBC Trek
This trek is a combination of the Gokyo Lake and the Everest Base Camp. A visit to Gokyo Ri offers magnificent view of Cho Oyu , Everest, Lhotse , Nuptse and Amadablam. We then cross over the Cho Lo pass and visit the Everest Base Camp. This trek also offers a walk through th emost dramatic landscape and magnificent views of the mountain range in the region.

With eight of the worlds ten highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountains vistas. Everest trek in justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain (8848m) but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages great variety of cultures and traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries. The flora and fauna are other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park . The story of the yeti is still a mystery to the world from the Kahumbu region.

Everest Base Camp trek has everything: the incredible mountain views from Chukung, Kala Pattar and Gokyo Ri . Popularly known as "The Ultimate Trek," it includes all that the Khumbu has to offer including the fascinating villages and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and the culture and hospitality of the Sherpa people, who will surely win your hearts. After starting with a flight to Lukla (2,805m/9,200ft) we trek up to Kala Pattar view point (5,550m/18,200ft) trek up the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base camp set under the awesome Khumbu Icefall. Then we veer off the main trail to cross the Cho La pass (5,422m/17,783ft) into the Gokyo Valley . To top off this unique trek we climb Gokyo Ri (5,488m/18,000ft) for a panoramic view of the greatest mountain scenery in the world - including five 8000+m/26,000+ft giants and myriad other peaks of the Khumbu Himalaya range.

Proceeding further up and from Lobuche the path is clear and pleasant at first and then it climbs, twisting and threading its way onto the rough moraine of the Khangri Glacier and finally to Gorak Shep. From Gorak Shep, Kala Pattar is about two hours walk. The sunrise view from Kala Pattar is a rare and rewarding experience. Kala Pattar (Black rock) is the most popular viewpoint of the Everest region. Walk to the base camp can be interesting although there are no views of Mt. Everest . The descending trails involve nearly the same route down to Lukla for a flight back to Kathmandu .

ITINERARIES

Day 01-  Arrival to Kathmandu

You will be welcome at Tribhun International Airport by our Staff  and transfer to your hotel. After check in Hotel  you come to our office to check Trekking equipment  and make sure all necessary permit and document are ready. Evening will be trekking briefing  with trek guide.

Day 02- Kathmandu flight to Lukla then trek to Phakding (2610m)

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.) and it takes about 30 minutes. Trek from Lukla to Phakding (2610 m.) which takes approximately three hours. You transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to Lukla. Lukla is a small town with an airport. There are few tea shops, lodges, hotels and general stores. You begin days trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi river. Nupla (5885m) can be seen in the distance on the opposite bank, is a peak atop the Kongde Ridge. You descend a mountainside path that merges into your route to Everest, with views to a valley to your right; and at its far end, Kusum Kang (6367m.) The Dudh Kosi approaches as you pass a Mani wall and arrive at Ghat teahouse. You continue along a small path with many climbs and descents following the left bank of Dudh Koshi to Phakding Overnight at Teahouse.

Day 03- Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.) which takes about five hours. This day you trek and cross the river on high suspension bridges. Beyond Monjo (2800m.) is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve this fragile mountain environment. You then ascend quite steeply to Namche and along the way, if the weather is clear, catch a first glimpse of Mt Everest in the distance. You can also enjoy the view of Mt. Kusum Kangaru, Thamserku, Konde-Ri and Tawache peak. You can also visit some of the village monasteries on the way of trekking to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.). Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu region and holds a busy Saturday market. There is set a meeting place for the Hindu traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have reached there by crossing the glaciated Nangpa La. Overnight at Teahouse.
 
Day 04- Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar
Today is a rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Namche is a colorful village with many wonderful and interesting shops and vendors, fabulous food, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. An early hike above town, before the clouds move in, will reward climbers with a spectacular Himalayan sunrise and views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse (the 4th highest peak in the world), and the beautiful Ama Dablam. On the way down, we can visit the Sherpa Museum that houses an exhibit on traditional Sherpa lifestyle and a fabulous photography display by a local Nepalese naturalist. One room highlights the Sherpa traditions and in another, Sherpa high altitude climbers are presented. Overnight at teahouse

Day 05- Namche Bazaar trek to Dole (4090m)
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4090m.) via Khumjung and it takes about six hours. From Namche the route heads up all the way to Kumjung, a picturesque village which also has its own gompa at the top end of town. Here you can have excellent views of Thamserku, Kantega and Ama Dablam. Soon after leaving Khumjung the trail climbs to a large chorten on top of a ridge. This ridge descends from Khumbila, a 5734m peak, said to be the abode of the patron God of the Khumbu region. The trail descends slightly towards the Sanasa and then trail ascends up to Mongla (4000m.). From here, you can see panoramic views of various mountains. You trek steeply descend passing through Phortse Tenga and from there, the trail climbs steeply to Dole, through rhododendron and birch forest festooned with hanging mosses and lichens. Overnight at Teahouse

Day 06- Dole trek to Machhermo (4410m)

Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4410m) and it takes about five hours. From Dole you climb steadily along the side of the valley, where the small and thorny bushes give way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases. The trail passes many summer settlements, which are used when yaks are taken to these pastures to graze in the summer months. Ahead of you are excellent views of Cho Oyu, while back down the valley are the peaks of Kantega and Thamserku. This is a short day and you will arrive at Machhermo. Overnight at Teahouse

Day 07- Machhermo trek to Gokyo (4750m)
From Machhermo to Gokyo the trail climbs a ridge for an excellent view both down valley to Kangtega and up towards to Cho-Oyu (8153m). Beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail passes through Pangka at 4390m then descends to the river bank before beginning the climb onto the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier. It is a steep climb up the moraine, switch backing alongside the stream to the first small lake at 4650m where a family of Brahmin ducks has resided for many years. The trail now becomes almost level as it follows the valley past a second lake known as Longponga. We finally reach Gokyo on a boulder-strewn path at 4750m. It takes about 4 to 5 hours. Overnight at Teahouse
 
Day 08- Explore Gokyo Ri (5480m) and afternoon around Gokyo lake

This day early in the morning we have a steep climb up to the top of Gokyo RI (5480m) ample rewards to ones that attempt this trip. There are stunning views of the Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu mountains range, such giants as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8153m) and Gychung Kang (7922m). This day we have for acclimatization, back to the Gokyo in the afternoon overnight at Teahouse.

Day 09- Gyoko to Dragnak (4960m.)
Early morning climb to Gokyo Ri (5200m), it is a two-hour climb to the top of the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawachee. After Lunch at Gokyo trek to Dragnak through the Ngozumba Glassier.

Day 10- Dragnak to Dzonghla (4860m.)
Trek for about 5-6 hours. We start very early ascending steeply on loose moraine. As we near the top of the pass 5200m, we reach and traverse around a large snow field before descending steeply on loose rocks to the Yak pasture at Dzonglha.

Day 11- LOBUCHE (4910m) 5 hours walk

This day after breakfast you will start the trek at first 1 hour way is flat and slightly up with round mountains view and then the valley view with river view. And going uphill 1 and hours crossing bridge again and get Thukla here is 2 tea houses at the height of 4600m. You will have lunch break here and after lunch about hours is steep up to get the grave yard of the persons who died in Mt. Everest and also this place is very nice view point for all round mountains, from here the way go flat and slightly up
and flat to get Lobouche. Here is the settlement of about 8 lodges, Overnight in good Lodge.

Day 12- Lobouche to Gorakshep Kalapatthar
Early morning after cup of tea/coffee start for Excursion Kalapathaar (5550m) from Lobuche the way is gently up about 1 hour to get to the glacier point and about 1 and hours we will have to walk on the glacier trail in right side lies the Khumbu glacier and opposite in the front Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Khumbuche, Lingtren, Pumori and many others all round mountains and valley of the glacier and also we will be able to see from here the Kalapathaar. In 2 and hours we get to the place of Gorakshep where is seversl lodges will have breakfast here with Sunshine and all
round montains views. After breakfast start to climb for Kalapathaar 2 and to 3 hours to get kalapathaar summit depends on your waliking pace and enjoy an hour up to your wish and back to Gorakshep and Lunch in Gorakshep and overnight at lodge.

Day 13- Gorakshep to EBC explore and back to Lobuche
Early morning after breakfast trek to  excursion to Everest Base Camp (5325m) 3 hours and explore around Everest Base Camp you will see the view Khumbu ice fall very close to you and Nuptse Wall and back side view of Pumori, Lingtren, khumbutse etc and after exploring trek back to Gorakshep 2-3 hours.after lunch back to Lubuche.

Day 14- DINGBOCHE (4410m) 4 and hours walk
Down the Morraine and slowly losing altitude reach upper side of the Pheriche the way straight to Dingboche. From before getting to Dingboche on this small pass this is one of the best view point because we will see all round mountains in this valley including Makalu 1 from here.

Day 15- NAMCHE (3440m.) 5 hours walk
Down the Dudh koshi, phunggu thyangga and a climb up to the shanasha from here slide down to the Namche bazaar have look market from arly morning to until 2 and 1/12 afternoon. If we will be on Saturday because only here is the weekly Saturday market, In this market all those things for selling is brought from low far down villages 5 to 7 days they carry continue upto here for selling.

Day 16- Namche Bazar to  LUKLA (2800m.) 7 hours walk

Continue down the Dudh koshi to the mountain airstrip, In Lukla overnight in nice Lodge.

Day 17-Fly from Lukla to KATHMANDU
30 minutes flight to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18- Full-day, guided sightseeing tour in the Kathmandu Valley.

Kathmandu Durbar square, Shyambhunath(monkey temple), Pashupatinath temple and Buddhanath.

Day 19- Transfer to the airport for final departure.
