Bhairav Kunda Trek 14 Days
Bhairav Kund - means in Sanskrit a holy lake named after a destructive name of lord Shiva the "Bhairav". The place "Bhairav Kund" is located to the northeast of Kathmandu and next right to Panch Pokhari and closer to Nepal - Tibet border. Approximately 5 hours bus ride we arrive at the trek starting point called Jalbire Bazzar. Jalbire is a traditional small town full of "Newari" culture. From Bhairav Kund there are no intervening ranges to spoil the views of Himalayan range of Jugal Himal in which peaks include Dorje Lakpa (6966), Madiya (6257M) and Phurbi Ghhyachu (6637m). The mixes of mountain culture along the views on the route of the trek are superb. The highlight of the trek is the Bhairav Kund, a holy lake situated at (4200m), the dominating skyline and the life style of nomadic people unchanged by time. The trekking group has to be self-contained, as there are no lodges/tea houses. Due to this incredible latitudinal range and an unusual geographical and climatic mix, walking this area is a naturalist's dream.
