Annapurna Tilicho Lake Trek
Tilicho Lake TrekThis trek is considered as a non-technical trek and suitable for average people. If you are moderately fit and have a sense of adventure will enjoy this trek. The program is designed to acclimatize you gradually and not expected high altitude sickness. However you are requested to check your altitude fitness and the itinerary.

We suggest you to strengthen your knee muscles and prepare for several days of steep descents. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, biking or aerobics is recommended, but mostly hiking on steep hills or running up and down steps are preferable.

Please note that the following program is prepared in the fact basis however can be change in some circumstances but adjustments will have to made during the trekking. We request you to be flexible with the situation to enjoy yourself. As the trek is designed for camping arrangement, everything is handled by our team of porters, sherpas and cooks who carry the equipment, assemble and dissemble the camp and have hot meals waiting for you at every food break.

Any trek in this region is an experience to remember for everyone in lifetime. The famous trekking routes of this region are- Jomsom/Muktinath trail, Annapurna circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, Gorepani/Ghandruk loop, Sikles/Lamjung Himal loop, and Upper Mustang. The best time to trek there in Spring and Autumn seasons of the year however some parts can be trek all the year round even in monsoon days and winter.

DETAIL 
ITINERARIES  


Day 01- Arrival Kathmandu
You will be met by Holidays Destination Trekking and Travel staffs at Airport and transferred to the hotel. Trekking equipment preparation and make sure necessary permits and TIMES card. The remainder of the afternoon at leisure for you to explore, Kathmandu has more World Heritage sites than any other city in the world. A pre-trek briefing will be given this evening.

Day 02- Drive Kathmandu to Chamje (1100m)
Early morning drive to Besisahsar/Bhulbhule through Prithvi High way from Besisahar teak a local jeep to Chamje the drive is with the view of River, greeneries, local villages and beautiful mountain scenery, from Chamje trek to Taal overnight in guesthouse; if the drive is late we can stay in Chamje also.

Day 03- Chamje trek to Dharapani (1960m)

After breakfast start the working through jungle after we left Chamje from chamje the trail goes bank of Marshyangdi river mostly climbing before arrive in Taal from there, we enter Manang district trail continues through barley, rice, potato fields and pine forests past the village of Kodo taking us to Dharapani, which is one of the big villages in the Manang valley. Tonight we stay overnight at guest house.

Day 04- Dharapani trek to Chame: (2630 m.)
Today The trail climbs along the mule track through in and fir forest and then follows the river for a time amongst the higher oak and maple trees. On the way you will have spectacular views of views of major Himalayan peaks. Tonight we stay overnight at guest house.

Day 05- Chame trek to Pisang Village (3300m)
Today the trail the trail follows through steep and narrow river valley with deep forest. Along the way you will be rewarded with the best mountain view of Pisang peak and Annapurna 2. Tonight we stay overnight at guest house.

Day 06- Pisang trek to Manang (3570m)

Today we can follow the two routes to reach Manang; the easier low route follows the valley floor via hongde and the strenuous route follow along the river north side of the valley which takes about 3 hour more than normal lower route. The trail goes through the fields of grazing Yak and a wide variety of crops before arriving Mananag which provides the spectacular views of Annapurna 2, 3, 4, Gangapurna and Tarkekang. Tonight we stay overnight at guest house.

Day 07- Manang - Acclimatization day

This is a rest day to acclimatize to the higher altitude. Spend a time with visiting monasteries, side trip to Gangapurna Lake, doing some excursions with the wonderful views around the villages, take advice from Himalayan Rescue Association and observe the spectacular views of the Himalaya.

Day 08- Manang trek to Khangsar village (3734m)
Trek from Manang the trail descent to a Chorten and turns to northwest and goes down to the River. After crossing the Jharsang khola on suspension bridge the trail goes through blue pine forest and the wheat fields before arrive Khangsar, Khangsar is a Gurung village. There you find a small monastery, Chorten, Mani walls and prayer flags. Tonight we stay overnight at local teahouse.


Day 09- Khangsar Village Trek to Tilicho base camp (4150m)
From Khangsar the trail climbs steeply past the Gompa and small chortens, trail goes through juniper and sea buckthorn bushes. Along the way we will cross the few streams and climb steeply to arrive Tilicho Lake,from here we can enjoy the closer and panoramic views of Tilicho Peak and surroundings mountain. Tonight we stay overnight at Tilicho base camp in guest house

Day 10- Base camp trek to Tilicho Lake (4919m) and trek back to base camp
Start the trek early morning today to Tilicho lake, it will be around 4 hour working to the lake we can have outstanding view of Gangapurna, Tarkekang, Khangsar Kang and the view of Manang valley and Upper Pisang are great, after spending the memorable time at Tilicho lake we will trek down to Tilicho base camp, Tonight also we stay overnight at Tilicho base camp in guest house

Day 11- Tilicho base camp trek to Yak Kharka (4000m)

From base camp we trek down passing through the ruins of old Khangsar and follow an unmarked trail which will lead you around and down to cross the river on an old log bridge between Gumsang and Yak Kharka. Tonight we stay overnight at Yak kharka guest house.

Day 12- Yak Kharka trek to Phedi high camp (4950m)

 From here the trail continue climb along the bank of the Jorsang Khola, It is some time possible to see herds of blue mountain sheep. Tonight we stay overnight at High camp Hotel.

Day 13- High Camp trek to Muktinath (3800m)
From high camp the trail becomes slow steep, switch backing up moraines and following rocky ridges as it ascends to the pass. The views from the trail and from the pass are outstanding, you can see the long great barrier ridged, Gangapurna, Annapurna, Thorong peak Khatung Kang peak. From the top the trail descends steeply down to Muktinath. This is one of the most important pilgrimage sights for Hindus. It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists. Tonight we stay overnight at Mona Lisa Guest house.
We ascend slow steeply along an undulating trail to the flat top of throngla (5416m) from here the trail descend steeply down to Muktinath. This is one of the most important pilgrimage sights for Hindus and Buddhist.  It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists people.

Day 14- Muktinath trek to Jomsom (2713m) via Kagbeni (2810m)

Today is easy walk after the great success of Thorong Pass, the trail gradually go down to Jharkot with the picturesque kani (large Gompa) from here the trail stroll among meadows, streams, poplar and fruit trees, finally we arrive Kagbeni a gateway to Upper Mustang, it has posing Chortens and ochre-colored Gompas and monastery, you can visit red walled kagchode Thubten Sampheling Gompa which was founded in 1429. After lunch in Kagbeni continue trekking to Jomsom on the windy trail of Kaligandaki valley, tonight we stay overnight at Jomsom mountain guest house.

Day 15- Jomsom to Pokahra

Early morning take a flight to Pokhara, free day in Pokhara, tonight we stay overnight at hotel.

Day 16- Pokhara to Kathmandu
It takes normal drive of seven hours, we reach Kathmandu. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, we head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable Car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple, Malekhu, Dhading and Kathmandu. Tonight we stay at hotel.

Day 17-Transfer to the Airport for your final departure

Holidays Destination Trekking and Travel team will take you to the airport for your flight home. On the other hand, if you prefer to stay longer, you can go for short tours such as game drive at National parks, rafting, Tibet tours, mountain biking etc.
