Koshi Tapu Wildlife Reserve
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, situated on the flood plains of the Sapta-Koshi River in Eastern Nepal is a wetland of international significance which covers 175 Sq Km . In 1987, it was declared a Ramsar site. It is home to more than 280 bird species including 20 duck species, 2 species of ibises, many storks, egrets and herons. The endangered swamp partridge and Bengal florican are found here. The Koshi Barge is an extremely important resting-place for migratory birds. The last surviving population of wild buffalo or arna is found here. The reserve is also home to many types of mammals such as hog deer, spotted deer, wild boar and blue bull. The endangered Gharial crocodile and Gangetic dolphin have been recorded in the Koshi River.

Likewise, Chitwan National Park (‘Chitwan’ means "in the heart of the jungle’) covers 932 sq. km. in the flat lowland region of southern Nepal which is listed in the World Heritage Site of UNESCO and regarded as on of the best managed park in Asia. It is one of the most important sub-tropical parks on the Indian subcontinent with populations of the endangered Royal Bengal tiger, Greater One-horned rhinoceros, Gangetic dolphin (Platanista gangetica), Wild Asian elephant, Gaur, Golden Monitor lizard, Gharial crocodile and many more.

ITINERARY

Day 01 Fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and drive an hour to the Koshi Tappu. Or can arrive after 3 hrs from Kakarbhitta Nepal- India Border in the East. Rest the day for acclimatize.

 Day 02 Full day bird, butterfly & dolphin exploring activities on foot and in boats in Koshi Tappu.
 
 Day 03 Whole day excursions with the naturalists.
 
Day 04 Drive from Koshi Tappu to Chitwan for 9-10 hrs through the beautiful landscapes. Evening jungle activities in Chitwan. Evening enjoy Tharu cultural program.
 
Day 05 Whole day jungle activities in Chitwan National Park including jungle walk, elephant ride, canon ride, village visit and explore the jungle on foot and jeeps for birds viewing, butterfly watching. In the evening enjoy a cultural dance performed by local villagers.
 
Day 06 Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu or can fly back from Bharatpur on your
choice.
